A previous homeowner decided to convert theur garage from 2 doors to a double wide door. Unfortunately the contractor they used simply cut away the center post/jack posts that supported the door headers. To eliminate the 3” of sag across the garage door opening, we had to remove the garage doors and install double 14” tall lvl beams with structural support posts at each end. The beam specifications were calculated by our structural engineer and approved by the local building authority. This is why structural changes should always be done with proper proper building permits and inspections.

A recently completed smaller bathroom remodel that incorporated a hand crafted mosaic inset by a local Melrose artisan. Window and door millwork selected to maintain period correct details. Finish painting to be done by the homeowner.

Installed a random width (3”, 4” and 5”) prefinished hickory hardwood floor as part of this kitchen remodel. The previous hardwood floor had been installed around the cabinets so that appliances such as the dishwasher were trapped under the countertop and flooring. Rule #1 when remodeling a kitchen.... flooring must be be wall-to-wall with no fillers (plywood) under cabinets or appliances.

Current project is a bathroom remodel designed for wheel chair accessibility. We are using Schluter’s Kerdi shower system with a linear wall drain thereby eliminating the need for a shower curb. The wet area (10x7) will be comprised of a 4x7 shower and an open 6x7 space accommodating a free standing tub. Photo’s will be posted as the project progresses.

Just completed a master bath upgrade. The client wanted to rebuild and enlarge their existing walk-in shower from 48x36 to 62x36 by eliminating an existing linen closet. The shower tray and walls were done with Schluter Kerdi shower systems, Schluter corner bench and Schluter inset wall Niche. Tiles used in this project:

Just completed a complete renovation of a 1br/studio condo. Kahrs engineered hardwood flooring throughout. New shaker style white kitchen cabinets by Mantra with Absolute Black honed granite countertops and Krauss undermount sink. Bathroom features Sterling/Kohler soaking tub with Symmons shower valve ensemble. Schluter kerdi shower wall membrane system with Schluter recessed wall niche. 12x32 wall tile and 12x12 floor tile.

Just completed the build-out of a 900 sf basement space in Arlington, Ma. This project included a full perimeter interior French drain and sump pump system, full bath with tile shower, extra large egress window with Bilco Scapewell window well, and “trolly” sliding doors to conserve space.
