Did you know your mini-split needs regular maintenance too?

Because mini-splits are compact and often operate quietly in the background, it can be easy to forget they need the same kind of care as other HVAC systems.

Routine maintenance can help:

✅ Keep filters and coils clean
✅ Maintain proper airflow
✅ Improve heating and cooling performance
✅ Catch small issues before they become bigger repairs
✅ Help your system operate efficiently throughout the year

And remember your mini-split works in both directions. It keeps you cool during Georgia summers and can provide heat when temperatures drop, which means it deserves attention before both cooling and heating season.

Happy Fall Y'all! Okay Georgia, we are about to dip into the 50s during the night coming up and with that, it means nearing furnace time, let's Tech Talk Tuesday about that first start up:

Turning on your heat for the first time this season? Don’t be surprised by a brief “burning” smell!

After sitting unused for months, dust can settle on your furnace and heating components. When the system kicks on for the first time, that dust may burn off and create a temporary dusty or slightly burning smell.

The key word is temporary.

✅ A light dusty smell that disappears fairly quickly can be normal.
⚠️ A strong burning, electrical, or plastic smell that continues or any visible smoke is a sign to turn the system off and have it checked by a professional.

Your heating system has been waiting all summer, too! A little dust may be expected, but anything that sticks around deserves a closer look.
