A busy morning at the GAC Multi Sport Complex!

Our A2 Concrete crew arrived on site at 3:00 AM for another major day of concrete work. The team completed several important pours, including a 6,395 sq. ft. mezzanine slab, the steel pan stairs, and the diamonds.

Marco Jimenez oversaw the project, coordinating the work and keeping the operation moving throughout the pour. We also partnered with Thomas Concrete for the ready-mix.

Early starts, detailed preparation, and teamwork all come together to keep a project like the GAC Multi Sport Complex moving forward. Proud of the work our crew continues to put in!

A 3:00 AM start for a major tilt-panel pour!

Our A2 Concrete crew started bright and early—3:00 AM yesterday morning—for the concrete pour on this tilt-panel project.

So, what exactly is a tilt panel?

Instead of building the walls vertically, large concrete panels are poured flat on the ground. Once they're ready, a crane lifts each panel into place, creating the exterior walls of the building.

This type of project takes a lot of planning, coordination, and teamwork. A2 partnered with Brundage-Bone Pumping for concrete pumps, Thomas Concrete for ready-mix, and Heyden Supply for steel to make yesterday's pour happen.

Tony Garcia, A2's Superintendent, directed the operation and kept the team moving throughout the pour.

A lot happens before the finished building takes shape, and this is one of those projects where you can really see the process in action.

🎾 Another day of progress at Gordon Lee High School!

Our A2 Concrete team continues to move forward on the Gordon
Lee High School Tennis Courts project.

Today’s accomplishments included:

• 4,285 sq. ft. of sidewalk poured

• Footings dug at the building

• Middle walkway saw cut

From site preparation to finished concrete, every step is part of building a quality finished project. We’re proud of the work our crew is putting in and excited to see this project take shape!

🚧 Getting ready for tomorrow’s pour!

There’s a lot that goes into preparing a slab before concrete ever arrives. Our A2 Concrete crew prepped an 18' x 60' slab, including the cooler and freezer pad areas.

The freezer pad received pressure-treated lumber, poly, three layers of 2" insulation with staggered joints, perimeter #4 dowels, and tied wire reinforcement. Under the remaining slab, the team installed poly, wire, and #5 dowels before forming and bracing the perimeter.

These details may not be visible once the concrete is poured, but they play an important role in building a quality slab.

We also had a great visit from the Mayor of Atlanta, who stopped by the site to check out the progress. John took some time to walk the Mayor through the work being done. 🏗️👷‍♂️
