This the time of year when furnaces are running, electric heaters may be running, holiday cooking. Its time to upgrade your smoke/Co detectors. Modern smoke detectors have 10 year sealed batteries. This means no more changing batteries everytime they start chirping. They get installed and you dont have to deal with them till their lifetime is up.
