I know you think you can handle anyone because you’ve always been able to..
But then, you’ve never met a woman like me.
I don’t care where you’ve been, what you have or what you know..
I care about who you truly are.
I want to know what moves you, the fire in your spirit and the truths in your soul.
All those before me were just there to show you what you didn’t want so that you’d understand that I’m one of a kind.
I don’t settle and I expect your best, each and every day.
Forget trying to woo me with buying me gifts and taking me places..
Show me your heart and bare your soul.
I have no interest in the things I can buy and do for myself.
I’ve been called stubborn, strong willed and feisty, but that’s just been the words of the ones who tried to tame me…
But couldn’t..no one can- I’m just a wild and fierce hearted person that is intense and passionate.
But you can run alongside me and join me on daring adventures and the pursuit of meaningful truths.
Sure, I want the things that most want:
Sunsets on the beach, candlelit dinners and quiet evenings on the patio.
But I need more than that:
I want long talks at 2am.
I crave intimate experiences between souls.
I need trips to nowhere just because.
I need to feel alive and experience passion that knows no limits.
I deserve those things and much more.
Don’t try to label me or fit me into a box, because I defy descriptions and excel at being unique..
Because that’s just who I am.
But forget the ones before me and the games they played..I don’t waste my time on immature ridiculousness.
I’m not here for superficial pleasure or temporary satisfaction,
I’ll never settle for less than deep and visceral feelings that powerfully connect two souls.
I want it all and I’ll have it..
Because I deserve it and I’m worth it.
So, before you think to compare me to all the ones your mother warned you about,
Realize this:
I’m not just an ordinary woman with average needs just hoping to capture your attention.
I don’t chase anyone- I’m too proud and strong to lower myself like that.
I’m a once in a lifetime person that deserves the extraordinary love story.
So, if you’ve got what it takes to step up and speak up, then let’s see where this goes..
But I’ll never be like the rest- that was your first mistake.
Not realizing I was the one your mother told you to wait for…could be your second,
So it’s up to you if you can handle for a strong beautifully self aware woman..
Because I don’t stick around for strike three.

Today is National Love a Tree Day!

She never set out to become strong, independent or resilient, but life had other plans.
She didn’t choose the path her life took- it chose her..
So she did what she had to do, grew stronger when she needed to and learned how to fight back, rise above and keep going..
Even when she felt like quitting so many times.
That’s not who she is or will ever be, though.
She doesn’t know how to stay down, accept defeat or be okay with giving up.
Truth is, she never saw half of what happened coming and she definitely had no idea how to make it through..
But she figured it out-
She always has.
It might not always be graceful, well planned or executed flawlessly…but she gets it done.
She’s not always had the strength or fortitude to push through and there were so many times she thought life would pull her under, but somehow, she would fight through.
The storms she has survived have made her appreciate the rainbows after the rain..
And she’s thankful for the moments that have turned into memories, people that turned into friends and the setbacks that turned into comebacks.
There will always be hard days, formidable challenges and stormy times..
But she’s learned to never let it overwhelm her or make her question herself.
She’ll find the answers, figure out the path forward and dig deeply to find her strength- she always has.
She’s more than a survivor, she’s a warrior with a heart of gold and an iron will.
For her, this life wasn’t ever a choice-
It’s who she was meant to be.
And as surely as tomorrow will rise, the first rays of sunrise will find her doing what she does best..
Living purposefully and loving passionately.
She’s got this,
And she always will..
Because she is me..
And I’m a strong woman,
And that’s what strong women do.
Overcome, fly high and shine brightly.
