🚨 Electrical Problems Aren’t Always Obvious 🚨

These two recent service calls are a perfect example of why electrical troubleshooting matters.

Photo 1: Customer lost power to several lights and outlets. After tracking down the issue, we found a severely burnt receptacle hidden in the circuit that was causing the outage.

Photo 2: Customer lost power to half their outdoor patio due to a constantly tripping GFCI breaker. The cause was a receptacle hidden behind an inset smoker that had been filling with water over time.

Electrical failures aren’t always obvious. A bad outlet hidden behind furniture, appliances, or outdoor equipment can create nuisance outages, tripped breakers, and even fire hazards.

If you’re dealing with:
✔️ Outlets or lights that quit working
✔️ Breakers that keep tripping
✔️ Outdoor receptacles exposed to the elements
✔️ Burning smells, discoloration, or warm outlets

Don’t ignore the warning signs.

We specialize in troubleshooting electrical problems and finding the root cause. When the power goes out, we’ll track down the right reason. Give us a call today for all your troubleshooting needs!

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

As a veteran owned and operated company, this day is deeply personal to us. We’ve lost brothers, sisters, and friends in service. People whose courage, loyalty, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Their memory lives on not only in our hearts, but in the freedoms we enjoy every single day.

Today is about remembrance, gratitude, and honoring those who gave everything so others could live freely. While the loss is heavy, we also celebrate the incredible legacy they left behind. That of strength, service, and selflessness.

From all of us at Vigilant Voltage Electric, thank you to the fallen heroes and the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Electrical issue found and repaired. ⚠️

Customer called because their garage door openers and several garage outlets stopped working. After some voltage testing, we determined there was a neutral issue somewhere in the circuit. We quickly tracked it down to a loose/open neutral connection under a wire nut.

Over time, loose connections create resistance and heat, which led to the melted and burnt wiring you see here and could have easily turned into a fire hazard.

We repaired the damaged wiring, secured the connections properly, and got everything back up and running safely.

If you’re having electrical issues like flickering lights, dead outlets, or partial power loss, don’t ignore it. Give us a call at 615-504-4421 for troubleshooting and repairs! 🔌⚡

BEFORE & AFTER — 200 AMP PANEL UPGRADE ⚡

This homeowner was experiencing electrical issues throughout the home, including flickering lights and appliance problems. After inspecting the panel, we found resistance and heat buildup that had already caused discoloration and damage to the bussing inside the system.

Older electrical panels can develop loose connections, wear, and internal heat damage over time, leading to both reliability and safety concerns.

We recommended a full 200 AMP panel replacement to provide a safer, more reliable electrical system built to handle the home’s power demands.

If your home is experiencing electrical issues or you think your system may need to be evaluated, give us a call today at 615-504-4421!

⚡️ Service Call Breakdown ⚡️

Customer called in with multiple issues throughout the home: dryer, microwave, range, lights, and various outlets were all losing power intermittently.

We responded right away and quickly diagnosed the problem: a dropped leg feeding the subpanel.

Upon further inspection, we found that the breaker was not outputting correct voltage. When attempting to remove it, the breaker was essentially fused to the bus bar.

What caused it?
🔥 Severe heat and electrical resistance at the connection point between the breaker and the bus bar. Over time, that poor connection built up enough heat to actually “glue” the breaker to the bus.

This is a serious condition that can lead to equipment failure, or worse.

✔️ Problem identified
✔️ Unsafe components addressed
✔️ System brought back to safe operation

If you’re experiencing partial power loss, flickering lights, or circuits acting strangely, don’t ignore it! These are often signs of bigger electrical issues behind the scenes.

📞 Give us a call at 615-504-4421 and get it checked before it becomes a hazard.

Upgrading your panel can improve safety, prevent outages, and give you peace of mind.

One of our most recent projects was helping a customer relocate their EV charger from their old home and get it fully installed at their new place. Instead of leaving it behind, we safely disconnected, transported, and reinstalled the unit, saving them money and keeping their setup consistent.

From proper wiring, to ensuring everything meets code at the new location, we made sure their charger was ready to power up as soon as they moved in. 🔌

If you’re moving and want to bring your EV charger with you, we’ve got you covered from start to finish.
