1. Actual loaded boat weight – Include fuel, batteries, gear, water, ballast, and accessories. Leave yourself a safety margin.

2. Boat fit – Make sure the lift matches your boat’s hull shape, length, beam, and drive configuration. Proper bunk placement is critical.

3. Water & lake depth – Check water depth and seasonal fluctuations.

4. Tanks & frame – Inspect flotation tanks for cracks or leaks and check the steel frame for serious corrosion, pitting, cracks, or damage.
