Two years after planting, this shoreline looks colorful and hosts all sorts of pollinator parties!

Establishing a natural shoreline is a good way to practice patience. While the first year might not look like much has changed, a lot is happening under ground. Then, once the roots have settled in, we see more growth and more blooms!

Remembering our first project of the season.

Family and neighbors got together to build and install over 400' of willow wattle.

With bigger boats coming to the lake, the landowners have noticed erosion along their shoreline cause by bigger waves. The willow wattle will brake the wave energy and protect the new plantings until their roots are deep enough to offer additional protection against erosion.

The annual Healthy Lands, Healthy Lakes Expo will be this Saturday May 2nd and we will be there!

The Expo will take place at the Rulibee Tavern, 235 Main Street, Wahkon. It will feature more than 20 exhibitors plus guest speakers addressin topics such as water quality, clean lake initiatives, habitat protection, and practical steps landowners can take to conserve shorelines and natural resources.
