9 years ago I started roofing, 9 years ago I was a single mom with 2 kids... I was living in a small outdated 2 bedroom condo with my 2 babies with a rusted out Chevy truck. I remember making enough money just to pay my rent, my insurance and my daycare bill with $50 dollars left to go buy groceries with. I remember being so tired, I remember crying because I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere with myself. Just fighting to survive, if I could tell myself anything back then it be, "be patient, because it gets better" the whirlwind my life turned into was very discouraging. Playing with drugs and alcohol, but when I started to get more into roofing and became so passionate about my job my life slowly started getting better. I quite the drugs, then eventually I quit the alcohol.. and not long after my husband quit too. But it took a life changing experience to give him that extra push, after we lost my father inlaw it was like my husband was reborn. He became everything that I wanted, he's so strong, handsome, funny, loving and such an incredible father to our babies.

Being at the Grace and Grind conference and hearing all these women open up and speak it made me realize that I'm not alone. That I shouldn't be ashamed of my past but proud because I survived, my husband survived. I'd never imagine I'd be here, or where I am today. I have so many things to look forward to and it comes from me following my passion, my heart, my love for roofing. 🙏😌
Always believe in yourself, often it's fear of failure that holds us back. But the best thing about failure is you get to learn from it, and try again. 💖
