Completed retaining wall in Homewood, AL!

Heath, owner of Dirt Works & Bobcat Services, is showing the finished project and catching you up from our previous video.

This GeoStone retaining wall is approximately 100 feet long, with the tallest section reaching 8.5 feet. The wall was built to create the space and support needed for a new kitchen extension.

We also added a slight curve to the wall to leave room for a small sidewalk along the side of the house.

The retaining wall itself took 2 days to build, with another 4 days of excavation and site preparation.

Owner Heath Trumbly is in the excavator digging out the bank and preparing the base for the new retaining wall, while his son Collin is running the skid steer and moving the excavated dirt away from the work area.

This wall is being built to hold back the slope and make room for a future addition to the home.

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for the next video when the retaining wall is finished!

This might be one of the best videos we have from a recent job.

For this project in Helena, AL, we used the bobcat to grade and prepare the area behind the new garage, built a small border wall, added oversized pea gravel, and finished everything with fresh Emerald Zoysia sod and pine straw.

The video really shows the full transformation and how much cleaner, more usable, and finished the backyard looks now.

We installed a new paver patio using a 3-piece paver material to match the existing hardscape as closely as possible. This project added approximately 890 sq. ft. of usable outdoor living space.
The work also included moving the stage, building a retaining wall to support the edge of the pavers, removing and replacing a section of existing pavers, installing connecting drains, adding pea gravel against the new pavers, and finishing the area with fresh pine straw.
This backyard now has a cleaner look, better drainage, and a much more functional outdoor space.
