95 Years of Integrity: Carrying Forward the Legacy of Herm Ungerman 🛠️✨
If you’ve done business with Ungerman Electric Inc., or driven through the Albany Capital Region, you’ve experienced the footprint of our founder, Herman "Herm" Mendel Ungerman.
We recently said a heartfelt goodbye to Herm at the age of 95. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a legendary local philanthropist, and the man who built our electrical contracting business from the ground up on two simple principles: an unmatched work ethic and absolute integrity.
To Herm, business wasn't just about wires and contracts—it was about community. He was a recipient of the Community Builders Award, serving on the boards of everything from the United Way to local senior centers, always believing that a business should lift up the city it calls home.
He modeled what it meant to lead with a servant's heart. In 2006, when our family faced a sudden tragedy, Herm selflessly stepped out of retirement to return to the helm, ensuring our team and our clients never missed a beat.
We are incredibly proud to be a family-owned business carrying his baton forward. Every time our trucks roll out, and every time we serve a client in Albany, we do it with the same honesty and passion that Herm founded this company on.
