Conversation starter here...
The typical mentality I see/hear (along the lines of pricing) seems to be that most have a belief lower pricing will yield more work/more $$$. I used to believe this too. However, I have gained some knowledge over the years and have developed a different perspective now.
I now believe that many of the things people complain about within their business is a direct/indirect result of the low price leader mentality.
For starters, when you develop an environment where you're known/being referred for being the lowest price, you naturally attract people focused on low price. It will be much harder to convince these potential customers to do/apply what's right for the situation... they typically want whatever is cheapest.
When you develop an environment where you are known/being referred for being knowledgeable and providing superior results, you're naturally going to attract more potential customers that are typically already expecting and willing to pay more for a better quality.
What if somehow the tide was turned and we all started competing to be the best/most valuable players? What if, instead of thinking of winning as getting a bid for the lowest price, a win was when you got a bid and yet you were not the lowest perhaps even the highest priced. I can tell you from many many experiences, the latter is a much more rewarding feeling of accomplishment.
Just my thoughts, feel free to share yours and enjoy your weekend. Beautiful weather here in Minnesota today. I can't wait to get back outside working. 😎conversation from Doug Holmgren
