It feels good to finally be putting the finishing touches on the shop.

We went with ambrosia maple for the trim, and it’s looking right at home in the space. The base is down, and the windows are next.

Bit by bit, the shop is becoming as considered as the pieces that leave it.

Jasper in the shop!

Hey all — I’m looking for a little help sourcing materials for an upcoming project.

I’ve been tasked with making some very sculptural pieces and I’m searching for trees that have been down for 1–5 years. Ideally, I’m looking for branches that have had time to air-dry but have been off the ground — either stacked in a pile or still hanging in the tree.

If I could find Sycamore, that would be a dream (those curvy branches are incredible), but I know that might be a long shot. I’m located in Jackson, MI, and am looking in the surrounding area as well.

If you have, or know of, any downed trees or large branch piles, please let me know. Thanks so much to anyone willing to help or spread the word — I really appreciate it.

These little martini tables turned out amazing, and Zack absolutely crushed it with the photos.

They take up practically no space, look good in any room, and you’ll end up using them all the time—kind of like those old oak TV stands we all grew up with.

They make a great gift for that person who’s impossible to shop for, and I’m putting together a holiday gift set soon, so stay tuned.

And for my plant lovers… they also make an awesome plant stand.

Shop upgrade: complete. Sanity: questionable.
This 2,000-pound 20-inch jointer fought me every step of the way — my tractor said no, my buddy’s Bobcat said no, and then out of nowhere a front-end loader literally drove down the road to save the day.

Huge thanks to my dad, Chris, for the help (and patience). She’s finally in her new home, and I can’t wait to fire her up once the converter arrives.

There’s nothing like cherry wood for a kitchen table—warm, timeless, and full of character.
This 8ft x 40in table was crafted to be the centerpiece of a client’s newly redesigned kitchen, and I can already picture the meals, conversations, and memories that will gather around it. It will really pop after finish is applied. 🍴✨

Being invited to display in the Ann Arbor Original Art Fair’s welcome activation area is such an honor, and I’m still in awe of the incredible arch they created to showcase my work. It’s the perfect setting for this simple, elegant cherry bench—crafted for moments of pause and appreciation. Come take a seat and enjoy the view!

The shop is chaos—in the best way.
There’s sawdust on the walls, wood chips on the dog, and barely a clear path to the door… but that can only mean one thing: art fair prep is in full swing. I’ve been deep in the studio for months, and I can’t wait to finally share all the new treasures I’ve been working on.

If you’re curious about the process, the story, or just want to hear me try to form full sentences before coffee, tune in to 106.9 tomorrow morning around 9:30 AM for my interview with Ken Lanphear. See you at the fair! Booth IN240

The benches for this beauty are nearly done! Just under 6 feet, they’re great for seating three guests and still slim enough to tuck away under the table when the meal’s done. Well designed furniture should move with you—not get in the way. Come see the full set in person at the Ann Arbor Art Fair, booth IN240!
