What an amazing day at the SDV Construction Company Picnic!

From bounce houses and bumper balls to great food, laughter, and time spent with family and coworkers, this year's picnic was a huge success. Events like these remind us that what makes SDV special isn't just the work we do—it's the people who make up our team.

A special thank you to our Events Committee and all of the volunteers who helped plan, organize, set up, and clean up. Your hard work created a memorable day for our employees and their families.

We're grateful for the opportunity to come together, celebrate our team, and enjoy time outside of the office and jobsite.

What an incredible achievement! 🎉🎓

SDV Construction is proud to recognize Eduardo Aleman-Acosta and Eric Contreras for graduating from the Carpentry Apprenticeship Program, a four-year apprenticeship of hands-on work and classroom training.

Throughout the program, they worked here at SDV during the day, and committed themselves to learning at night. Their dedication, perseverance, and positive attitude make them truly great employees, and we couldn’t be more proud to have them on our team. Congratulations and we look forward to your continued work and development with SDV! 👏

Every month, our team comes together for our Mass Safety Meeting - a time to focus on what matters most: getting everyone home safe.

This month’s topic: Hand and Portable Powered Tool Safety

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration states that power tool accidents are a top five leader in construction site injuries, these are preventable injuries that can be avoided by proper use, maintenance and vigilance while working on the job site. Remember to keep all tools in good working condition, examine each tool before use, use the right tool for the job, wear proper PPE, and understand and have a plan for the potential hazards of using the tool.

Safety training days like this are about preparation and confidence. The more we train, the better equipped we are to protect ourselves and support one another - on site, at work, and beyond.

SDV Construction’s commitment to safety starts long before we or our subcontractors reach the job site. All SDV employees and subcontractors participate in our Safety Orientation and Reference Handbook Program, ensuring a consistent level of safety knowledge and accountability across our worksites.

“SDV Construction is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, clients, and subcontractors,” said Susan Baca, SDV Construction’s Safety Director. “We are proud to provide our Safety Orientation and Reference Handbook Program and materials to our partners as part of our ongoing effort to minimize jobsite injuries, mitigate workplace hazards, and promote a culture of safety on every project.”

The program introduces workers to workplace hazards, company safety policies, and emergency procedures, while providing the knowledge and skills needed to recognize potential risks, properly use personal protective equipment (PPE), follow safe work practices, and respond effectively to incidents or emergencies.
