Once the final road grade is established, manholes have to be raised or lowered so the lid sits flush with the finished pavement. Too high and you’ve built a speed bump. Too low and you’ve created a pothole with a cast-iron lid.
A good adjustment means:
🔧 Proper elevation
📏 Smooth transitions
🚗 A better ride
💪 And a structure that can handle years of traffic
