Vigil & Associates is proud to celebrate a memorable evening at the AGC New Mexico 2026 Best Buildings Awards, where our firm was honored with three project awards. Among them, the CNM Central New Mexico Community College Ted Chavez Trades & Technologies Center, designed in collaboration with Architekton, received the prestigious Student Choice Award.

Selected directly by student members in partnership with ACE Leadership High School and AGC of UNM, this award recognizes projects that resonate with the next generation of design and construction professionals. It is especially meaningful to see a facility dedicated to workforce development and skilled trades education recognized by the very students it was designed to inspire.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Franken Construction Company and the entire project team whose dedication and expertise helped bring this vision to life. Creating environments that empower students to learn, grow, and pursue meaningful careers is at the heart of what we do, and we are honored to have contributed to a project that will serve New Mexico for years to come.

Deidra was born in Corpus Christi, TX, but after a year of mosquito bites, her family returned to their New Mexico roots. With more than 20 years of administrative experience, Deidra brings exceptional organizational and clerical skills, a positive attitude, and a great sense of humor to our team. She enjoys getting to know her coworkers and takes pride in keeping the office running smoothly so everyone can do their best work.

Construction is underway at the DHSEM State Fire Marshal’s Office Fire Training Academy and Fire Fighter’s Memorial in Santa Fe, and we’re excited to see the project taking shape!

Reinforcing steel is being installed and prepared for concrete placement, while the retaining walls for the Memorial Amphitheater are beginning to define the space. Plumbing rough-in is also underway as work progresses across the site.

It’s exciting to see these important elements move from drawings into reality as we work toward a facility that will support New Mexico’s fire professionals and a Memorial that will honor those who have given their lives in service.

We look forward to sharing more progress as construction continues!

There’s nothing like stepping away from the office to spend time together outdoors.

Our Albuquerque and Las Cruces teams gathered in Pecos, New Mexico, for Vigil & Associates’ annual Summer Bash—a tradition that gives us the opportunity to reconnect, relax and enjoy each other’s company beyond project deadlines.

This year’s celebration included a friendly volleyball tournament, corn hole competitions and a delicious picnic featuring catered Mexican food. Some team members kicked off the weekend by camping on Friday night, while others brought their families to Saturday’s festivities.

Moments like these remind us that the relationships we build outside the office strengthen the collaboration, trust and teamwork we bring to every project. Thanks to everyone who joined us for another memorable Summer Bash—we’re already looking forward to next year!
