I've been debating on whether to share this or not, but have decided to be vulnerable because I hope my flower friends and community will understand. I've been struggling here with my grief and depression and anxiety for the past couple of weeks. It creates such a weight emotionally and physically that I've struggled to perform my duties on my flower farm. Weeds are out of control, flowers are being smothered, and some days I wonder what I'm doing. The past couple days I've been able to remind myself why I started my flower farm... to help me with my grief, depression, anxiety, and panic attacks after my son died. I've been missing my husband a lot, too, and all the things he helped me with. Of course the heat hasn't helped and the weeds sure aren't slowing down. I know I need help but asking for help is a very hard thing for me to do. Yesterday I went to cut some flowers for bouquets and got frustrated with the amount of bindweed that is smothering one of my lisanthus beds so I decided to just cut all the flowers in that bed. (I'll make a separate post about their availability.) I just hope people are still out there and understanding and that I aiming for my flower farm to be a success and something that people can look forward to and count on. I just need time to continue to work through my grief and depression. I continue to be so grateful for my family, friends, and community! 💓
