It's almost spring! That means it's time to get dormant lawns cut down a little below the height you know you'd like to keep it all year. So, if you want your lawn cut at 2 inches high, I'll cut it down to about 1.5 inches, so the green grass won't compete with winter leftovers. I'll be sending out messages to everyone this week to set up our schedule for the year. Can't wait for warm weather!

Hi neighbors! I'll be getting with last year's customers to start planning the new growing season. I can't believe it's just a month or so away!

Remember that the FIRST cut of the season is the most important. If you want a tight, short lawn, we need to cut it a little shorter before it starts to green. If you let Bermuda grow too tall, it becomes woody and brown underneath. The height of the grass you want will determine how often I come out.

The grass has pretty much stopped growing. But what hasn't stopped is the wind blowing everyone's leaves and clippings all over the neighborhood! Now is a great time to get in a final cut. I usually bag these cuts to get up all of the miscellaneous leaves and clippings. I'll also get up into the beds and make sure they're cleaned out as well. Then, in the late winter, I'll come out and do it again, so your yard is clean and ready for green grass! Send me a message, and I'll get you on the schedule.

Fall lawn tips!
1. By now, you should be watering just ONCE per month. Roots need to be forced down low for winter.
2. Let Bermuda grow about an inch taller than you kept it over the summer. Then keep it that way for winter. It will strengthen the grass an lower the likelihood of a brown spring!

Can you identify the summer w**ds in each of the photos? Each one requires a different solution and that's why it's important to understand what the w**d is before trying to control it. Reminder - the best way to prevent w**ds next year is to overseed your lawn this fall. The thicker the grass is, the less w**ds you will have. We’re just a month away from primetime for overseeding!

This week is "prevent mower rolling off the back of dad's truck week..." if you see a tangerine driving around the streets, it's just me getting my mower to my customers... In one piece 😉
