Structurist team recently completed structural analysis and design work for a two-story rear addition at an existing residence located in Alexandria, VA. The scope of work included providing structural design and permit drawings to remove load bearing walls, and the design and integration of the addition with the existing structure.

We at Structurist Consulting Engineers are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our latest retail project: New Five Below Store at Lorton Market in Lorton, Virginia for our esteemed client, Regency Centers. This project was a collaborative effort with the experienced architect Ralph Watson, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP at RDC. , the GC team at Manroe Bay Builders Inc., and other consulting disciplines. The scope of work included comprehensive interior renovations to enhance functionality and appeal, significant façade alterations to the landlord shell with a new storefront and opening, entrance canopy, and finishes. Additionally, we evaluated and strengthened the existing roof structure to support new RTU installations. Working closely with Adil Saltani, AAIA, and Kevin Lyons at the Regency Centers, we ensured that every detail met the highest standards of quality and design. We are proud of the results and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this remarkable project.

Just wrapped up a site visit for an exciting residential structural alteraton project in Fairfax Station, Virginia! We’re creating a 24-foot opening in the rear exterior wall of this house to install a new steel beam and post, paving the way for a new beautiful new back porch. 🏡

As a structural engineer, ensuring the integrity and safety of such modifications is crucial for both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Homeowners, architects, and contractors, reach out to us for similar projects in the DMV areas—we have extensive experience in this kind of work!
