What makes a building automation system truly operator-friendly?

Clear navigation. Custom graphics. Practical sequences. Non-proprietary architecture.

S&W Controls specializes in Niagara N4-based HVAC automation that building teams can actually use, from floor plans and equipment summaries to alarms, trends, and scheduling.

We support both Honeywell WEBs and Johnson Controls FX platforms with open-protocol integration.

❌ Myth: Smart building controls are only for new construction.

✅ Reality: Existing buildings can be upgraded with modern controls, without replacing everything.

Older building? That doesn’t mean you’re stuck with older technology. Modern controls can often integrate with existing HVAC equipment, helping building teams improve visibility, efficiency and control without starting from scratch.

Wonder what’s possible in your building? https://bit.ly/3HyNXZ2

Your building has a seasonal schedule. Does your BAS?

As the seasons change, so do outdoor temperatures, occupancy patterns and HVAC demands. A schedule that made sense in July may not make sense in October.

Before heating season gets into full swing, take a look at your BAS:

🗓️ Are occupied and unoccupied schedules still accurate?
⏱️ Are start/stop times optimized for current conditions?
🌡️ Are heating setpoints where they should be?
🎛️ Are old overrides still hanging around?

Your building changes with the seasons. Your controls should, too.

You don’t always need new equipment to make a building more efficient.

Sometimes, you just need to make the equipment you have work smarter.

That’s where building automation and controls come in. By optimizing HVAC operation, schedules, setpoints and responses to occupancy and conditions, the right controls can help reduce unnecessary energy use.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, high-performance building controls can deliver an average of 30% annual HVAC energy savings across a range of commercial building types.

The takeaway? Efficiency isn’t just about what’s in your building. It’s about how it works.

🔧 Behind every well-run building is a skilled tradesperson.

For National Tradesmen Day, we're highlighting the people who work behind the scenes to make buildings operate the way they should.

Controls professionals bring together HVAC knowledge, electrical skills, programming, troubleshooting, and plenty of hands-on problem solving.

It's skilled work and it takes more than knowing which wire goes where.

Here's to the trades that keep our buildings running!

❌ Myth: If you have a BAS, your building is prepared for anything.

✅ Reality: A BAS is only as useful as it's set up to be. Alarms need to be configured, prioritized, routed to the right people, and tested regularly to make sure your team gets the information they need when something goes wrong.

Not sure your BAS is ready for the unexpected? Let's take a look >>> https://bit.ly/3HyNXZ2
