Over due project for my mom; but wasn’t happy with how the first one turned out.. liked the look, it incorporated live edge... but didn’t ‘fit’ the feel that I wanted for her end table. Additional special thing about this project, the red oak is reused from one of the very first projects I did over a decade ago, so she gets a part of where it all started! So glad I opted to be late and get it right vs rushed & wrong.

International ferry flight... Venice portion

So been quiet lately as I’ve been having to focus more on the ‘jet fuel’ vs the ‘saw dust’ part. Got back from a couple week international ferry flight were I was fortunate to take an aircraft from the US, up through Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, Italy, Greece, Jordan, and then onto the Middle East. Incredible experience building professional skills, developing new friendships, and getting once in a life time opportunities.

A little look of the behind the scenes to the projects that I do... everything that I make out of wood... is first ‘built’ on paper. This is the start of a second attempt at an end table... first one while I liked... didn’t ‘feel right’ for who it was intended for.. so take 2!

Had a request was able to get my hands on some more live edge black walnut. Initially I was worried that it wouldn’t work for the project due to some extensive insect damage... which once filled with epoxy... turned out far better than if it had just been plain board!
