Please do not be fooled or misguided by the sudden influx of “local” roofers that have appeared in this area. Here are 3 things to ask to insure you are hiring a local company, with a local crew who purchases your materials from a local supplier.
1. Where does the owner of your company live?
2. Where do your crew AND their families live?
3. Where do you purchase your materials from?
Many of the “local” crews in this area are no more than franchises who purchase their materials from out of town suppliers as well as hire illegals to do the work which means your money does not stay local. (And having homeowners sign a contract is a sales ploy that is not necessary. Tell them no.)

A few tips for those who suffered damage to their roof during last nights storm:
1) all estimates should be free
2) "contracts" are not necessary nor binding, they are a sales ploy
3) beware of contractors not from this area, they will have a local number and act like they are residents. There will be no one to hold accountable when they leave town and leave a homeowner with a poorly installed roof
4) DO YOUR HOMEWORK! call local supply companies, they can recommend LOCAL and reputable roofing contractors (RSI, Tarver, Martin Bldg Supply).

Before you hire a roofing contractor, please do your homework. Local suppliers, such as RSI will give you the names of those that they feel do good work. A new roof is too costly and protects too much to be installed poorly.
