Leonard and Sons is a masonry restoration company specializing in all aspects of your chimneys functions and repairs or rebuilding. We also specialize in dryer vents with the focus on proper function and fire prevention. We are a fourth-generation family-owned business that has been serving the community since 1966. With almost 60 years of experience, we have become a trusted name in the industry,

providing top-quality chimney sweeping, masonry restoration, dryer vent cleanings, chimney relining, fireplace resurfacing, and more! We were originally founded in 1966 by Leonard and Dolores Martinez. After 20 years of Leonard working for Chicago's top tuckpointing companies restoring such historic buildings as; Wrigley Building, Tribune Towers, Merchandise Mart, The Board of Trade and countless others, Len and Dolores decided to venture on their own, focusing their business in the Northwest Suburbs. Leonard and Sons was built on the philosophy of treating the client in an honest and fair manner stressing quality over quantity. In 1988 Len and Dolores retired and passed that tradition on to Rich and Pam Martinez who owned the business until 2022. They ran day to day operations with their son, 3rd generation, Caleb Martinez. With over two decades in the industry, Caleb took over as President of Leonard and Sons in 2022. He is a CSIA Specialist, and was appointed Vice President of the Wisconsin Guild of Chimney Service Specialists in 2023. Our team at Leonard and Sons is made up of highly skilled and experienced professionals who are committed to providing the best possible service to our customers. We use the highest quality products and techniques to ensure that every job is done right, and we take pride in our workmanship and attention to detail. On top of the decades of experience, we have enhanced the business by obtaining Certifications in multiple areas of chimney functions and dryer vent safety stressing the importance of continuing education to stay current with constant new findings. We continue to maintain our high level of customer satisfaction through respectful concern for each and every client.

Meet Dolores!

For nearly 60 years, Leonard & Sons has combined tradition with innovation. When you call our office, you may now be greeted by a new member of the team: Dolores.

Named in honor of Caleb’s grandmother (Leonard’s wife), Dolores. “Grandma Marti,” was known for her warmth, kindness, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. We thought it was only fitting that our new digital assistant carry her name.

Our newly launched, “Dolores” helps answer calls when our team is busy assisting other customers, helping schedule appointments and making sure your questions get where they need to go. She’s not here to replace the personal service we’re known for. She’s here to support it.

As our company continues to grow, Dolores helps us make sure every customer gets the attention they deserve, even during our busiest days.

We think Grandma Marti would be tickled to know she’s still helping the family business.

As Dolores learns, we’d love your feedback. This is a new service, and we’re continually training and refining her to better serve our customers. If you have suggestions after speaking with her, please let us know. Your feedback will help us make the experience even better for everyone.

Preserving the character and craftsmanship of landmark buildings is some of the most rewarding work we do. Our team carefully restored the masonry while maintaining the beauty and integrity of this community treasure for years to come.
