Position Description

Title: Business Manager – 12 Month Contracted Position
Reports to: Superintendent
Location: Administration Office

Position Description
Manage and oversee the business and physical plant support operations of a school district with an enrollment of approximately 1200 students and a budget that regularly exceeds $25 million dollars.

Qualifications :
B.S. Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance. CPA and MBA preferred. Three to five years supervisory experience in a public school district. Experience with the ProSoft (windows-based) financial system a plus. Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

*Business Manager Performance Responsibilities:

-Prepare and coordinate the development of the District’s annual budget.

-Accurately maintain the financial records of the District.

* Supervise and oversee the following :

- Business Office operations –
-Accounts Payable
-Accounts Receivable
-Payroll
-Investments
-Employee Benefits Administration
-Bid Preparation
-Tax Collection
-Debt Service
-Prepare monthly financial reports.
-Conduct and oversee monthly financial account reconciliations.
-Arrange and oversee financial audits conducted by government agencies or independent audits.
-Prepare financial information as needed for collective bargaining agreements.
-Maintain District compliance with Act 1 and any other state/federal regulatory guidelines or laws.
-Participate in District planning and leadership efforts as determined by the Superintendent or Board of School Directors.
-Provide direct oversight of various District divisions including: Physical Plant, Food Service, Transportation, and such other operations as deemed necessary by the Superintendent and the Board of School Directors.
-Assist the Superintendent in identifying, planning, and establishing the goals, objectives and direction of District Physical Plant management.
-Other duties as directed.

**Terms of Employment:

All state and/or federal criminal history and child abuse clearances are required.
12 month contracted position.

1 year ago - we visited the Local Carpenters union. Made Introductions. Sparked interest within the youth. Opened lines of communication.
Today - Connections strengthened. Doors opened for our students. And opportunities in the works. Wait until you see what the next 365 brings us 😏 💪🏽

"That's not all you have. There's more left in you!"

Their project is almost complete. Even though it was cloudy, hot & muggy and even rained a little - They stuck it out and the finish line is right there! All of them pushed themselves, did the work and we had a good day!!

If you want any of the items the students have created, they will be ready next week so let us know!

Who Would've Ever Thought , many years ago, a few guys meeting at Woodland Blvd would have the ability to be together on a $1.7 billion dollar project. Talking about changing pathways!

I've Tried and continue to push change , not only in my community, but literally to anyone that will listen and is willing to put forth the effort to change our brighten their future. and im actually starting to see the change, the vision, the togetherness in the youth. Which to me is the best reward for this all, being able to give the youth a vision, a reason, an opportunity to succeed at life.......... Early!

2 Minutes. Take 2 minutes and listen to what Emmanuel has to say. As one of the Original students of S.I.M.S., he has been where they are. He spoke on the value of the opportunity they have been given by Mr. Johns and his program. He spoke on his personal experience and what he has been able to do with the things he has learned from us here at S.I.M.S. He spoke with confidence and gave them knowledge.
Watching him speak, is yet another example of how our program is shaping lives. Proud of you Manny 💪🏽
