Since a negative review was left on my page and when I defended myself, I was blocked and everyone else can still see a negative review that only shows 1 side of the story, I guess I'll make a post because thats a voice that can't be taken away...
I was hired to mow a 1/2 acre of a "flat and no obstacle" (important detail) yard that was 6 weeks overgrown reoccuring for the remainder of the year. I was busy and didn't do an in person estimate. My 1st mistake... Either way I showed up a few days later after hours to mow because the client insisted it be done now and not within the week to work into my rotation but was very apologetic about the grass. I insisted I wasn't worried about the grass height because I deal with it all the time and was just trying to be nice. So I mow and advise the client that I had to charge more due to the height even tho I didn't want to but I had damages I had to cover from the thick grass, big holes, and hidden un mowable obstacles, and atleast wanted my minimum hourly wage and for satisfaction added a discount that only contracted clients receive (important detail) and I did leave the back fence line untouched because it had gotten dark and was full of tree limbs and piles of bricks (important detail) and the client didn't mind and even left a positive review afterwards. All was good.
A week after the 1st mow in a irritated and annoyed tone I was asked why I didn't show up to mow and I simply and professionaly stated we agreed upon 2 weeks and said I'll be there in a week. For satisfaction I stated I didn't want to mow it weekly and charge $100 each time (that detail is important) because I'm not here to take advantage of people and stated how I was confident that in 2 weeks I would have it maintainable and by the 3rd biweekly service it will look good again meaning no overlay. I also offered to mow it before the next week if she wanted to pay that and I didn't receive a response...
I showed up for the 2nd service on the biweekly scheduled day and the yard had been cut since I was there last. I asked the client if she needed my services still and recieved no response... The neighbor blind sided me and even tho she filled me with information that was signaling some red flags and some inconsistencies in the clients sob story for the yards bad conditions, I proceeded to mow the yard. My 2nd mistake... I sent the invoice and the client immediately texted me very angry and claimed she meant to fire me because she bought a mower (important detail) but forgot. She didn't buy a mower (neighbor inconsistency) and when I explained the unpaid invoice process she then made a review on my business FB page and had several of her friends that I've never worked for (important detail) bash me and leave there own seperate reviews.
With all transparency the agreement/estimate sent to the client before the services started, stated all of the extra fees that could be applied and states an estimate isn't always a guarantee but that its an approximate calculation (important detail)... I try to be reasonable and stay within close range of my estimated price for client satisfaction but all of the drama that came following these events was not worth the $30 extra charge and at this time the invoice has been partially paid...
Attached are photos of the performed services before and after and screenshots of her 3 reviews. Thats all you need to read is her review and my response not a whole novel of false information and wierd innuendos about my character. I have never met the client in person therefore all communication has reciepts (important detail). At this time the community page post has been deleted. I don't know why $30 would make someone want to attempt to ruins someone's life whose just trying to make ends meet but maybe a clean up warning from the city was issued or something. A simple "don't recommend" review with a caption that says "overpriced work" would have been enough.
This was a learning experience for sure on my part and her mission to destroy my business will fail and I'm gonna keep pushing forward! Thank you for your time!
