We are proud to open the doors of our new Seattle office in the iconic Smith Tower. Just as Smith Tower stood tall as Seattle’s first skyscraper—an architectural pioneer in its time—PLA has long been a trailblazer in theatre planning across the Pacific Northwest. Now, as one of the longest-running full-service performing arts space consulting firms founded in the Pacific Northwest, PLA continues to shape the spaces where stories live through pushing boundaries, re-imagining possibilities, and delivering solutions that are as practical as they are visionary.

Equally exciting, we are thrilled to welcome Thomas Cowdery as our newest Theatre Consultant and the lead of our Seattle office. Thomas brings deep understanding of the unique needs of theater spaces, specialized knowledge in rigging and production systems, and an infectious enthusiasm for creating spaces where performance and design thrive. His skills, creativity, and energy will be invaluable as we expand our work in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

At PLA Designs, we believe in building spaces that inspire creativity, community, and connection. With a new home in Seattle’s historic Smith Tower and Thomas as a part of our team, PLA is poised to deepen its presence in the Pacific Northwest. The stage is set for the stories yet to be told in the spaces where art and architecture continue to meet.
