Quinn and Rebecca Martin started Tri Scapes LLC. in Forsyth County 33 years ago as a small landscaping company. Since then, they have expanded the business to include a tree farm, a perennial and grass farm in North Forsyth County, and a sod farm near Hawkinsville. Our editor, Jay Jones, recently spoke with the Martins about their growing operation and its roots in agriculture and stewardship. Read the full article below.

" Planting the right way Tri Scapes roots its success in stewardship and soil" by Jay Jones

Quinn and Rebecca Martin started their landscaping business 33 years ago in South Forsyth County. Over time, they have grown a business that touches multiple facets of horticulture and agriculture in Georgia, guided by core tenets of faith, hard work, and investing in people.

“We were just a commercial landscape company. We just mowed grass and planted trees, and we’ve been doing that ever since, and we’re still doing it today,” Quinn Martin said. “God’s been good. He gave us great employees, gave us a great business, and really a lot of great men and women. We know we have employees who have been here 30 years that are just awesome, and it’s just allowed us to grow.”

What started out as a small crew focused on landscaping has grown into an operation supporting 600 employees across construction, maintenance, and agricultural divisions. Tri Scapes projects $100 million in total sales for 2026, generating more than $60 million in revenue within Georgia.

Expansion into direct agricultural production began eight years ago with the purchase of a farm in Elbert County, where Tri Scapes grows 18,000 trees ranging from seedlings to three-inch caliper. Martin said the farm moves 5,000 to 6,000 trees annually, with almost all products going directly to Georgia projects. The farm also maintains a 40- to 45-head cattle herd to graze the pastures.

Two years ago, the company purchased a farm in North Forsyth County that now produces perennials and grasses primarily for Tri Scapes projects. More recently, they converted a peanut farm in Hawkinsville into a 150-acre sod operation producing certified Tif 419 Bermuda grass, which is projected to generate $2 million in revenue this year.

Tri Scapes is a Georgia Grown member, and Martin said supporting the state’s agricultural sector remains a priority. Alongside its headquarters, the company has expanded its footprint with offices in Savannah and Augusta.

“We have an office in Savannah, and we have an office in Augusta. We think Augusta is a really strong market right now as well,” Martin said. “I think a lot of folks are going to that area.”

As markets expand across the state, Tri Scapes places a strong emphasis on environmental resilience. Water conservation is paramount, prompting a shift toward drought- and heat-tolerant native species like little bluestem grass, native white oak, Amelanchier, Sweetbay magnolia, and Vitex in lieu of crape myrtles.

“We’re seeing a big change now. The last few years, we’re seeing folks plant the right tree, plant the right grass, plant the right plant—not just plant something that’s wrong for the environment, something a little more drought-tolerant, heat-tolerant that requires less water,” Martin said.

Martin’s affinity for horticulture and agriculture runs deep in his family history. While his father left farming in the 1960s to work on an assembly line, his mother’s family managed the multi-generation E.H. Reid Farms in Forsyth County, a traditional hog and cattle operation.

Martin learned the value of hard work selling produce out of the field at local farmers markets. He recalled buying watermelons from his grandfather for 50 cents and selling them for a dollar, as well as the traditional farm chore of picking peas “on the halves.”

“You had to pick three bushels and give them two, and you kept one, and then they would run them through their shelling machine so you didn’t have to shell peas,” Martin said. “My dad would never, never do that. He always said he had free labor at home and not shell peas.”

Looking ahead, Martin points to water management and balanced regulatory oversight as critical focus areas for Georgia’s future.

“Georgia is a tree state, and when you travel here, it is green. Maintaining that tree canopy and managing our landscapes properly is vital,” Martin noted. “But just as important is lowering the barriers of entry for the next generation. For young men and women who want to be entrepreneurs, farmers, or enter the ag industry, we need to make sure the path is open so they can build successful businesses just like we did.”

Meet Gainesville’s newest landscape crew! They have four legs, big personalities, and a serious appetite! 🐐

Today, we stopped by Wilshire Park to see our Tri Scapes Sponsored Goats on the Greenway in action! For ten days, goats from Kinder Family Farms are helping clear kudzu, English ivy, and Chinese privet along the greenway. In areas near the creek where spraying is prohibited, these goats offer a natural way to tackle invasive vegetation while giving the community something pretty fun to watch. We are proud to support the Gainesville Parks and Recreation Foundation and a project that brings together stewardship, creative problem solving, and community!

If you are near Wilshire Park, stop by and see the crew at work 😊

The article shares how Quinn and Rebecca Martin grew Tri Scapes from a small landscaping company in Forsyth County into a statewide organization supporting 600 employees across construction, maintenance, & agriculture. For more than 33 years, our journey has remained rooted in faith, hard work, investing in people, and caring for Georgia’s land. Thank you to the Georgia Department of Agriculture and writer Jay Jones for telling our story.

The properties may be what people see. These are the people behind them.

Yesterday, maintenance crews from across Tri Scapes came together for our Maintenance Town Hall. It was a chance to share a meal, catch up with one another, and recognize the people who put in the work day after day. Our teams take pride in the details, care about the customers they serve, and show up for each other. That matters.

A student with an idea. A team that cares. A community brought together.

Today, we celebrated Saanvi Sharma, a senior at Denmark High School, and the four educational signs she helped create for Caney Creek Preserve. Her work will help visitors learn about the preserve’s watershed, native trees, wildlife and habitats, and creek health for years to come.

We were also proud to recognize the Tri Scapes maintenance team members who care for this beautiful space every day. Their dedication makes projects like this even more meaningful.

A huge thank-you to Lang Signs Inc. for helping bring Saanvi’s vision to life by producing and installing the signs with such care and generosity.

A little extra fun for National Night Out!

Tri Scapes was happy to sponsor National Night Out at Lakeside on Riverwatch, one of the communities our team has the opportunity to maintain. We love getting to support the properties we serve beyond the landscape and be a small part of the communities that call them home. We hope the residents had a great night!
