So those that know me already know, I am a huge fan of the Taylor Toolworks Bedrock Style planes from Taylor Toolworks LLC. The Taytools Premium Bedrock Style planes are their higher end line, and a far superior plane than their standard Bailey style planes. Here is the BR No.4 Smoothing Plane that arrived today. They come double boxed, and bagged, covered in the standard rust preventing oil. I removed it from the bag and just whipped it down with my hand for the picture. I will take it apart later today, get it cleaned up, and tuned. You can pick up this Bedrock Style No.4 for around $120. The iron is a full ⅛" thick cryogenicly treated 01 steel, sole is Ductile Iron, and the furniture is made from Sapele, which I personally love.

Acacia butcher block countertops, face frame material, and floating shelves are all built, flattened, and cut to rough size. These are for the pantry build. Once the bases are in, I will cut them to final size, chamfer the edges, and smooth them one more time with a hand plane before applying the finish. I love the look of Acacia, and I enjoy working with it as well. I personally prefer an oil finish, to bring out all the grain and figure, and to highlight that it is all butcher block.

Prepping stock for the open bases going in the Pantry build. These are made out of ¾" Baltic Birch plywood. Countertop is 1½" thick Acacia wood butcher block along with the floating shelves. Tops and shelves are all glued up and I will be working on those tomorrow, as well as finishing the face frames. And just like in the shop, I am cutting this all down with the Kreg Tool track saw. I keep one in the shop, and one in the trailer to use in the field.

Picked up a trailer load of Maple this morning, and turned it into cabinet carcasses and face frames. And not a day goes by that I am not running my Kreg Tool track saw, and the Kreg Foreman. Tomorrow I will be back on the Custom Pantry site doing the design and layout of the interior of the Pantry. Busy busy busy, as we have 6 more cabinet jobs lined up to be built and installed, as well as some dining room tables to build.
