Well, I almost forgot y’all were sitting around waiting on your weekly Frankism.

It’s hot. It’s been a helluva week. And if you’ve worked outside in Florida in July, that’s really all that needs to be said.

The only thing hotter than the weather this week has been some of the attics I’ve been crawling around in. I’m pretty sure there’s a special place in electrician heaven for anyone willing to spend their day pulling wire in a 140-degree attic.

And if you’re like my son, who somehow thinks he needs a space heater in the middle of July, I guess this is your reminder to not plug it into a power strip.

Stay cool, drink your water, and if something electrical isn’t working the way it should, give us a call. I’ll be the sweaty guy climbing out of your attic wondering why I didn’t become a professional fisherman.

I’m grateful my dad passed down more than a trade—he taught me how to think.

Troubleshooting isn’t something you learn overnight. It’s built through experience, patience, and a willingness to never stop learning.

I’m thankful every day for those lessons.

My father always said, 'The man who can fix what's broken is worth his weight in gold.' He was right then, and he's right now. When the lights go out or the pipes freeze, it's not a lawyer you're calling at midnight - it's the tradesman who knows his craft. Did you learn a trade, or did you raise kids who did?

⚡ Fridays with Frank

I’ve seen duct tape, zip ties, bungee cords… and yes, even a few “creative” electrical repairs over the years.

I appreciate a good temporary fix as much as the next guy—but when it comes to electricity, temporary has a way of becoming permanent.

If something isn’t working the way it should, don’t just cover it up and hope for the best. A small issue today can turn into a much bigger (and more expensive) one tomorrow.

Sometimes the cheapest fix is taking care of it before it becomes an emergency.

Have a great weekend, and if your latest “temporary fix” has lasted a little longer than you planned… it might be time to give us a call.

Did You Know?

🔥 HEAT ADVISORY TODAY (6/29)– Calhoun County, FL 🔥

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Calhoun County today, with forecast heat index values expected to reach 108° to 112°.

Hot temperatures and high humidity can cause heat-related illness quickly. Take precautions today:

✅ Drink plenty of water
✅ Stay in air conditioning when possible
✅ Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day
✅ Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing
✅ Check on children, older adults, neighbors, and pets
✅ Never leave children or pets in a vehicle

Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. If someone shows signs of heat stroke — confusion, fainting, hot/red skin, or loss of consciousness — call 911 immediately.

🌩️ We’ve responded to several lightning damage calls this week, and more storms are expected through Friday.

Lightning can damage panels, breakers, appliances, HVAC systems, well equipment, and electronics—even without a direct strike.

After a storm, pay attention to what your electrical system is trying to tell you.

Just because it’s working doesn’t mean it’s right.
