We were called out to unclog 3 down spouts which connect to a sump pump. The results was not what we wanted but we made sure we covered every option available.

Although we were able to clear the line and get a little flow.

This came across my forum

Hello all, a friend (single woman in 30's) had a clogged drain, 2 different companies tried to snake it with no success. This was then the solution.

So, it looks to me they tore up the concrete and replaced the Pvc section below and filled back in with quick mud.

Lol 3 full days job.
1st - 3 guys concrete.
2nd - 2 guys pipe replacement.
3rd - 2 guys fill in
6800 bill.

Is this not insane? What am I missing? What would you charge?

The first thing to do is always get three quotes (free estimates).

In this case yes, the average price may be in that range but it fair enough to say that someone could also accomplish that for $1200. So the question is did you first have the company cable the line. And if so did you try a different company to cable the line. If the right company would cabled the line with the correct equipment - it possibly would have gotten the line to be open flowing. Saving you thousands of dollars

A consumer asked this question

There is water slowly dripping from the back of my toilet tank. I thought it might be the little white plastic thing that attaches the small hose from the wall to the tank but it isn’t wet, it seems the back of the tank is wet. Any suggestions on what is leaking and how to fix it?

Here are the steps that I would take in order to fix this problem.

1. Check the water supply line - replacement is key due to the washer being worn out. Or not screwed on tight enough.

2. Make sure the bolts inside the tank are not rusted out. And that they are tightened down with correct accuracy.

3. Make sure the fill valve is not steadily running water. Or corroded

4. Check the flapper and make sure water is not seeping through

5. Replace the toilet
