We were recently contacted by a disgruntled customer to evaluate some work done by another company. We were shocked by the workmanship (or lack thereof). This customer, after dealing with flood damage, moved out temporarily to have their floors remodeled. Two weeks later they were left with this (first two pics). Eventually, the customer found us and we were able to redo the floor and get them the quality product they should have received in the first place. Unfortunately, we see this all too often. I say all this to stress the importance of finding a reputable contractor with quality references. I know it’s uncharted waters for most folks who know little or nothing about concrete floors. I’d offer this valuable tip. For any trade, FIND THE LOCAL SUPPLIER! Ask for their references. They know who does quality work and who pays their bills on time. This customer reached out to Moon Decorative Concrete supply and we were referred. Never assume the cheapest price is the way to go. The highest bidder isn’t necessarily the way to go either. We had the honor of restoring this American Route 66 historical landmark. We were contracted to remove and replace an older design with a newer, more durable material. The final decision was to go with a layered quartz system. In the demo proccess, we “unearthed” relics from the past, only to cover them right back up 🤷🏼!! This was a challenging, but rewarding experience and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to attempt something so technical and unique. Special thanks to Paige, Rick, Kenny, Pat and Virgil for their contributions. If you’re ever near Clinton, OK, make sure to stop by the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum. It’s well worth the stop!!
