This year, Plains Builders Inc. Received the opportunity to build the Kylie Hiner Memorial Playground, with AMBUCS and the City of Canyon, TX.. This was a awesome project! We are so glad, we got the chance to be a part of it.

This morning Dalhart City Council members, City of Dalhart Police Department, and Dalhart Volunteer Fire Dept joined contractors from Plains Builders Inc. to break ground on the new Emergency Response Center!

Upon completion, the site will house Dalhart Police, Fire, and local EMS services to allow these agencies to better respond to emergencies throughout the community.

Keeping track of project progress, ensuring compliance with safety, health & quality standards, purchasing equipment and materials, collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs. Must set performance goals and deadlines, plan construction processes, estimate cost and ensure the project is on budget. Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback, monitor and report project progress. Must be able to plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities, implement safety and quality guidelines. Order equipment and arrange for regular maintenance, keep track of material stock and orders, ensure the job site is safe, clean and orderly, resolve onsite issues and emergencies. Previous experience as construction superintendent or similar role, knowledge of local quality, safety and health guidelines for construction job sites, in-depth understanding of construction operations and processes. Familiarity with CAD software, MS Office, organization and management skills. Must have the ability to lead and inspire. Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field: Master’s degree is a plus.

Write & distribute contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders, Distribute and track project plans and specifications, solicit and retrieve qualified bids on bid date, be proficient in submittal reviewing and response, determine supply needs through technical details and schedules, manage the orders of material and equipment to meet project requirements. Coordinate the delivery of supplies according to priorities and specifications, resolve problems to speed up delivery of orders, inspect orders, monitor inventory for different jobs, place orders, and arrange movement of material between locations. Must maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors, keep records, proven experience as construction expeditor or relevant position, experience in project management. The ability to understand technical specifications of material and equipment, MS OFFICE, Excel and filing systems. Must be well organized, apt in problem solving and High school diploma is preferred.

Commercial Carpenter:
Reading blueprints, drawings & sketches to fully grasp requirements, taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed, Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material, build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw material or pre-constructed items. Lay out flooring, roofing and drywalls, assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items, Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance. Proven experience as carpenter, hands on experience in working with carpentry materials, excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction. Proficient to using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools, ability to read technical documents and drawings, willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times, Good knowledge of English, basic math and good physical condition and endurance.
