1st step in this lawn renovation
De-thatched twice
2nd step is getting some moisture into the lawn
3rd step will be to aerate
4th step is to fertilize
5th step will be to spray growth regulator (slow the growth of the fescue)
**wait a week to allow growth regulator to kick in
6th step is to seed with rye grass
7th step is top dress with some good top soil
THEN LOTS OF WATER AND SUNSHINE

Time to apply a pre emergent
I will lay lay down a pre emergent with fertilizer and iron for a quicker green up
Also consider a humic acid to condition your soil ....a soil pick me up

Fescue lawns....it's that time of year.....what time do you ask....time to de thatch and scalp....and maybe aerate
