What started as a blank canvas is really starting to take shape.
We had a rectangular framed room with mechanical rough-in.

So far we patched the concrete from the drains being moved, framed out for a custom shower, built a custom seating bench in the shower area, built a custom shower pan, completed our flood test on shower pan, and boarded the rest of the room in green board with a bed coat for the tape.
We still have a bit more prep, and a ways to go to the finish line. However the vision is starting to come to life and the homeowners dream is becoming a reality.

Today was one of the most important days of my job. As a tile contractor doing custom showers, one of the most crucial parts of the project is a flood test on the shower pan.
A lot of contractors are arrogant in their prep work/ or have never been properly trained and skip this required part of the process. It is time consuming and is a slight delay in progress- however it is a cheap insurance plan. Doing it right the first time, insures I donā€™t have to go back a second time.
As they say- an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

We decided to take a pretty large bite on this project to help some friends with their basement renovation.
-some framing, custom mudbed shower, custom bench, and some drywall thrown into the mix as well. šŸ’ŖšŸ»šŸ’ŖšŸ»šŸ’ŖšŸ»

if youā€™ve ever found tile dust in places it definitely shouldnā€™t be, triple checked a cut 4 times, or stood back admiring perfectly lined up grout joints for way too longā€¦ this oneā€™s for you.

I learned a lot working for a couple different companies as a tile installer- each time digging deeper and getting a better understanding of proper tile installation practices. When I started Back Tile services I made a commitment to myself and more importantly to the people I serve, to further develop my education. I made this commitment so I could deliver the best quality installations that are truly built to last.
Some of the things I had been taught, werenā€™t 100% accurate/ werenā€™t applicable in every scenario- not all tile installationā€™s are created equal.
This book contains heaps of information, and helps me ensure that I am applying the best practices to deliver the quality, lasting results that your investment deserves. Thank you for following along on this journey of continued education and the support along the way!
