This week I was invited back to my Alma Mater, Utah State to speak with the talented Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning, Residential Landscape Design & Construction, and Horticulture students.

We dove into the real-world aspects of being a designer, from client expectations to the sales process and the invaluable experience you gain outside the classroom. We discussed what it takes to install these designs and how the planning and design element of each landscape needs to be meticulously thought about from a perspective of the installers. 

All things I wish I had a better understanding of when I was sitting in those same classrooms becoming a landscape professional myself. 

My goal is to build this industry with smart, talented professionals. Your landscape is your way of tying the natural world into your home and everyday life, especially in urban areas. 

Looking forward to mine and relationship with and USU PSC department.

Currently on about 10 projects, all on a different phase of the construction. This helps, as we can spread machinery out as needed, disperse different crew members to the jobs that fit their specialties and not have everything collide at once with all the different projects.
Love what I do! Can't wait to see some finished results in the next few weeks!

Could you provide feedback on your decision making experience on hiring a service related company, such as landscape design and installation or a major renovation or construction project on your home?

What factors besides the price tag influenced your decision to choose one company over another for your project?

What characteristics do you look for in a company before hiring them for a project?

What makes you (the client) have a flawless experience with the service?

What do you wish your last service company did differently that would have made the experience better?

I am seeking answers on how to discern between competing proposals, given that each of the companies you received quotes from possess required licensing, insurance, positive client reviews, and demonstrated capability complete the task at hand. How would you make this decision?

We're a small landscape installation company looking for a few good men and women who aren't afraid to get down and dirty (and maybe a little bit sweaty) to create some truly epic outdoor spaces. Utah we are having one of the worst heat waves we've ever had on top of being in a pretty severe drought these last few years. TREES ARE THE ANSWER!

-Trees shading your grass means you don't need to water your grass as much.
-Trees shading your house means your power bill is less.
-Trees shading your patio means more afternoons enjoyed outside.
-Trees shading your driveway means your car is more tolerable to get into in the hot afternoon.
-Trees along your property line means less neighbors peeping into your yard.
-Trees require very little maintenance.
Plus, Trees add some much aesthetic and curb appeal to your property! Why not??
