It's annoying that the symptoms for overwatering AND underwatering your plants are often very similar.

A general rule of thumb?

If the soil's wet and the plant's not looking good, you're OVERwatering.

If the soil's dry and the plant's not looking good, you're UNDERwatering.

Adjust accordingly.

I never really figured out I could keep houseplants alive until I actually did it. I bought a $15 pothos from the grocery store, and the rest is history.
