We are excited to announce that GoliathTech Corporation has taken the steps to be part of the international movement Living Future Institute.
The primary objective is to create a symbiosis between the habitat, the inhabitants and their environment, by establishing a healthy relationship with nature. In brief, a Declare Label is like a 'nutrition label' for your product. It says what goes into your product, where the product's final assembly locations are, its embodied carbon, the product's life expectancy, and what can be done with the material/product at the end of its lifespan. A Declare Label is not a call to change what is in your product, it is simply a call to know what is in your product, and then be transparent about it. The people who head the Living Building Challenge make the Declare Label available to the public on a database, which is slowly becoming a go-to for teams that are pursuing any degree of sustainability on their projects.
The essential points:
β’ Limit building growth: to environments that are unlikely to harm ecologically sensitive areas (fauna, flora, soil, etc.).
β’ Urban agriculture: to integrate agriculture initiatives that are appropriate to the size of the project and its population density.
β’ Habitat exchange: ensuring that for every hectare developed in the construction project, one hectare of land outside the site (habitat for other forms of plant or animal life) is protected and managed by the Living Future Habitat Exchange Program.
β’ Lifestyle prioritizing human energy: i.e. walking, bicycling, stairs (rather than elevators), public transit, electric vehicles and carpooling, in order to minimize unused fuels. renewables and encourage a healthier and more active lifestyle.
