Next Wednesday! Looks like tons of Fun!

🎉 We're so excited for the 24th Annual West End Block Party and Visit Anchorage Business Exchange! We’ve been partnering with Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd.’s Live After Five Concert Series for the past few years, and this year we're super stoked to have an awesome Salmonfest band playing our party!

🎸 Pamela Parker's Fantastic Machine is bringing their funky jams to Anchorage before they head down to Ninilchik to play Salmonfest. You won't want to miss their show!

🌭 Our favorite food trucks will be on hand, so you don't have to worry about cooking dinner! Enjoy tasty treats from The Hungry Deckhand, The Pizza Box AK, El Green-Go's, Papaya Tree, Holly Dogs, and Pasta La Vista.

🍺 Alaskan Brewing Co. beer will be flowing at the beer garden along with our famous margaritas!

🎈Fun kids' activities include face painting and balloon art by Magic by Robbie, bubbles, chalk art, and more!

The 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby was Saturday, and BDS decided to get in on the fun by making our own derby hats. Everyone here loves a crafty fun Friday activity, so we got in the spirit by watching past races and predicting Saturday's race winner. Good thing we weren't betting, because we all would have lost money.

April 1st is April Fool’s Day, but at BDS, we celebrate the art of a good prank year round. Here are some of our favorites that still get talked about around the office years later.

-The Wandering Beiber: For years, BDS had a life size cardboard cutout of Justin Beiber hanging around the office. On one occasion, an employee was surprised in the morning by Beibs lurking in her dim office. She shrieked loud enough to make sure the whole office was awake.

-Beibs 2.0: The Justin cutout is long gone, but now we have a new cardboard friend! It’s a life size duck that wanders around the office. We named him Beibs, and while he doesn’t quite have the same scare factor, he will show up in your Zoom meeting if you’re not careful.

-Welcome Back!: Going on vacation gives your coworkers plenty of time to come up with something elaborate for your workspace. Here are a few of our favorite homecoming pranks:
-One of our partners found furry mice (of the cat toy variety) hanging by their tails from his office ceiling. Hundreds of them.
-Another found tiny rubber ducks everywhere, lined up on all the surfaces of his office.
-After a particularly long time away, someone else came back to find the entire office plastered with “Missing Person” flyers, complete with their picture. It even made it onto the milk carton in the office refrigerator.
-Yet another employee came back to find googly eyes on all her office items. There’s nothing like realizing your stapler is staring at you first thing in the morning.
-Imagine your office filled with 250 balloons! Enough said.
