We’re Hiring – PBX Voice Technician

Alcan Electrical & Engineering, Inc. is looking for an experienced PBX Voice Technician to join our team. This role is key in programming, installing, and maintaining premise-based PBX/VoIP phone systems, ensuring reliable and secure voice communications for our clients.

What You’ll Do:
-Program, configure, and maintain PBX/VoIP phone systems
-Troubleshoot and resolve voice system issues to minimize downtime
-Manage deployments and upgrades of telephony hardware/software
-Integrate phone systems with data networks and IT infrastructure
-Support virtualization platforms, networking, and security appliances

What We’re Looking For:
-Hands-on experience with PBX/VoIP systems (Avaya, Mitel, Cisco, NEC, etc.)
-Knowledge of server virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
-Strong networking and routing skills (TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS)
-Familiarity with firewalls and security best practices for voice systems
-Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
-Certifications (CompTIA, CCNA, VMware, etc.) are a plus

Alcan had our annual Summer Picnic on Wednesday!
A tradition the family company has done for over 40 years.

We celebrated another year as a ‘Team’ in the pouring rain with nearly 200 people, inflatable obstacle courses, great food and company.

We were grateful to have roughly half of our Employees and their families attend this years event; and we’d like to give a special thank you for the teams working hard in so many remote parts of our beautiful State - Bethel, Sitka, Fairbanks, Ft. Wainwright, Juneau, Valdez, Ketchikan (and so many more) - who weren’t able to make it this year.

We are thankful for another year, an exemplary team, a State and communities to continuing growing with.
