NIMA Shareholders voted overwhelmingly to establish the NIMA Corporation Settlement Trust (NCST) at the October 2023 Annual Meeting. The NCST Board of Trustees declared a shareholder dividend of $2.50 a share for shareholders of record as of May 1, 2024. Dividend checks are being mailed out the week of May 20th. The NIMA Board of Directors and Staff wish you and your family a safe and bountiful harvest this year.

This year the NIMA Corporation recognized the remaining 2 of the original 5 trailblazing Board members from 1973 at the 50th Annual Shareholders meeting held at Mekoryuk, Alaska on October 7th 2023 at the Nunwarmiut School. From left to right current Vice-Chairman Edward I. Kiokun, Director Sandra L. King, Secretary/Treasurer Melanie R. Shavings, former Director from 1973 Fred Don, former Director from 1973 Samson Weston, current Director Solomon Williams, President & CEO Terry Don. NIMA recognized the 3 Original trailblazing Directors who have since passed on, Gertrude Ivanoff, Martin Kapokun, and Edward Shavings Sr. After the passage of P.L. 92-203, the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act on December 18th, 1971, the Alaska Native residents of the village of Mekoryuk saw fit to elect the 5 original Directors to begin NIMA's journey into the business world from a largely subsistence based economy. Many thanks to the 5 original Board Members of NIMA Corporation and those original shareholders who had the confidence to elect them to lead NIMA into the uncharted territory of the business world!
