I have over 15 years of building maintenance and remodeling experience. I have worked throughout the Anchorage area for the past 12 years I am certified from the United States Department of Labor as a Building Maintenance Repairer. I have worked as a trim carpenter, a maintenance mechanic, maintenance supervisor and maintenance coordinator in recent years.

When was the last time you had your furnace cleaned? Overtime your furnace will accumulate dust and debris. It is important to have your furnace tuned up every year. Filters should be changed out every 3-6 months pending the type of filter installed. Having a clean furnace will help with the longevity of your furnace.

CUSTOMER - How much will it cost to do this job?
CONTRACTOR - $2,800

CUSTOMER - That's too expensive for this job!
CONTRACTOR - How much do you think it should cost?

CUSTOMER - $800 max! It's an easy job!
CONTRACTOR - I can't do the job for that little.

CUSTOMER - People in their line of work want to make great profits!
CONTRACTOR - I'm sorry you feel that way. Why don't you do the work?

CUSTOMER - But, but, I don't know how to do any of that.
CONTRACTOR – For $900, I can teach you everything you need to know to get the job done. Then you can use $800 to do the work and still be saving $1,100. Plus, you’ll get all the knowledge and experience for the next time you need to do this job.

COUTURE - Deal !
CONTRACTOR - Great! To get started, you need to buy tools. You'll need a chisel hammer, nail gun, laser, drill, mixer, personal protective equipment and a few other things.

CUSTOMER - But I don't have any of those tools and I can't buy them all for one job!
CONTRACTOR - It's OK. I can rent you my tools for another $300. You're still saving $800.

CUSTOMER - That's cutting my savings, but I'll rent your tools.
CONTRACTOR - Perfect! I'll be back Saturday and we can get started.

CUSTOMER - Wait for it! I can't on Saturday. I only have time today.
CONTRACTOR - Sorry, I only teach others on Saturdays. I have to prioritize my time and tools must be on other jobs I have during the week.

CUSTOMER - Well then. I'll sacrifice my family's plans on Saturday.
CONTRACTOR - yeah me too! Oh I forgot about it. If you're going to do the work yourself, you need to buy the materials. There is a lot of demand today so the best thing to do is get a truck and be at the hardware store at 6am before other contractors arrive.

CUSTOMER - AT SIX IN THE MORNING? On a Saturday? It's too early for me. I don't even have a truck!
CONTRACTOR - I guess you'll have to rent one. By the way, do you have some helpers to help you load the truck?

CUSTOMER - do you know what? I been thinking. It’s probably better for you to do the work. Better get paid to do the job right and not have to go through all that hassle.
CONTRACTOR - Well thought out. Sign here and let me get to work.
