July deadheading musts (and what not to cut) ✂️

Dragonflies might look delicate, but they’re some of the fiercest mosquito hunters in nature.

With sharp eyesight and agile flight, a single dragonfly can eat hundreds of mosquitoes in just one day. They don’t need traps, chemicals, or fancy tools — just their instinct and speed.

Watching one dart through the air, you’d never guess how much work it’s doing. Not only do they go after mosquitoes, but they also eat gnats, flies, and other tiny pests that make summer evenings less enjoyable.

If you want to see more dragonflies around your home, consider adding a small pond or planting native vegetation.

They’re drawn to water and natural habitats, and they’ll return the favor by helping keep the bug population in check.
