Some places make a difference simply by the care and comfort they provide.

We’re proud to be working on renovations at the Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House, helping care for a space that means so much to patients, families, and the community. We’re thankful for the opportunity to contribute to a place centered on compassion and dignity.

PINK looks good on this crew.

Today, we’re wearing pink for the fighters, the survivors, the ones we remember, and the people who show up for them every step of the way.

We’re proud to stand together as a work family, supporting a cause that touches so many lives and reminding one another that no one has to face it alone. 🎀

A NEW CHAPTER, A BIG MILESTONE, AND SO MUCH TO CELEBRATE!

The doors are officially open at James Island Christian School’s new 14,000-square-foot upper school building in Charleston, SC! 🎓

We were proud to bring this addition to life and even more excited to celebrate alongside the students, staff, and families who make this school so special. Featuring 11 classrooms, a science lab, a weight room, and a dedicated youth space, this new building creates even more room for students to learn, grow, and prepare for what’s ahead.

Founded by families who continue to be part of its story today, James Island Christian School is built on a mission that reaches far beyond the classroom: preparing students for a lifetime of service and leadership in their homes, churches, and communities.

Congratulations to James Island Christian School on this exciting milestone, and to our Lowerstate team for taking such great care of this project and helping bring this vision to life! We’re proud to play a part in JICS’s continued growth and can’t wait to see all that happens within these walls.

We’re proud to be underway at HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital in Summerville, SC! This is an exciting milestone for our team and an opportunity to make a lasting impact in a place that matters so much to the community.

Working in a healthcare environment comes with a unique responsibility. Through a phased renovation of existing hospital spaces, our Lowcountry team will help create improved environments for the doctors, nurses, staff, and patients who rely on this facility every day.

We’re honored to be part of this project and look forward to the work ahead. Because when you build for the people who care for others, the impact reaches far beyond the walls.

Meet Jon Willette, Project Executive at J. Davis.

His career has taken him through a lot of projects, clients, and communities — but some have stayed with him for reasons that have nothing to do with the plans or the finished building.

One of those was Mountain View Veterinary Svcs that he helped build for a couple who wanted to serve their community.

For Jon, that project was a reminder of what this work is really about.

Yes, we build buildings. We manage schedules, solve problems, coordinate teams, and work through the countless details it takes to bring a project to life.

But at the end of the day, those buildings become something much bigger.

They become businesses someone poured their heart into. Places where people receive care. Schools where kids learn. Spaces that serve families and communities for years to come.

And sometimes, getting to be a small part of someone else's vision — knowing what that place will mean to them and to the people they serve — is what makes the work matter.

This Careers in Construction Month, we're sharing the stories behind the people who build. Because what we build matters, but who we build it for matters even more.

There’s something exciting about meeting students who are just beginning to figure out where their skills, interests, and ambitions might take them.

Our Talent Acquisition Specialist, Amy Ruby, had the opportunity to join University’s 2026 Fall Career Fair and spend the day talking with students about careers in construction, what life at J. Davis looks like, and the many paths a career in this industry can take.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with the next generation of talent and for the continued partnership with Anderson University and the College of Business & Economics.

Because sometimes, the first step toward finding the right career is simply starting the conversation. Are you Interested in learning more about building a career home with us?

A flag can be a simple symbol, but sometimes it carries a whole lot of meaning.

This October, our Estimating Team raised the breast cancer awareness flag at our office as a small reminder of something much bigger: the people we know, love, work alongside, and stand beside who have been affected by breast cancer.

We’re proud to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to stand together in support of awareness, early detection, treatment, survivors, and those still fighting.

Together, we raise awareness. Together, we support the fight. 🎀

A fresh face for a familiar place.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to help bring new life to the Fidelity Bank branch in Greenville, SC. From a refreshed front façade to a complete interior reconfiguration, this renovation was about making the space feel more current, functional and welcoming for the people who use it every day.

The project included improvements to the teller line, a new ATM, relocating the vault door, reconfiguring interior rooms and bringing the existing space up to date — all while working within the framework of a place that was already part of the community.

Thankful to Fidelity Bank for trusting our team with the work, and to everyone who helped bring this transformation to life.
