Our hearts are heavy and we are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our friend and Jaco family member Donnis Ellis, who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday.

Jo Lynn, Jodi, Kody and family our constant thoughts and prayers are with you today and going forward.

Our office will be closed Thursday, February 29th 10:00-2:00 so that we may all attend his service.

Donnis Parvin Ellis II was born January 31,1955. He unexpectedly left us on February 24, 2024.

Donnis was raised in Danbury, TX and attended Danbury High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Jo Lynn Sebesta in 1977. He was a Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 1977, where he proudly served in the Corps of Cadets as the Executive Officer (XO) in Company B-1. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science, Animal Science degree and remained a loyal member of the 12th Man throughout his life. After graduation, he worked at the Farms of Texas and this was the beginning of his lifelong dream of having his own livestock operation. The only bigger dream was raising his children with his wife Jo Lynn.

Jodi and Kody gave him the opportunity to expand his livestock dreams into the show circuit. Long after his children exited the show ring, you could still find him at any livestock show, leaning on a fence, watching the show & mentoring the next generation of future Ag leaders.

He spent 25 years as an operator and fire safety at the Chocolate Bayou Chemical Plants. His friendships that he made there have lasted his lifetime. He retired in 2015 to be able to fully focus on his livestock operation. He spent his final 9 years expanding into the Brahman breed community and received several awards. Prior to his passing, he was awarded by the American Brahman Breeders Association, recognizing him for an outstanding achievement of renown status within his herd.

More importantly was his relationship with Christ. He rededicated his life through Baptism in 2011. He shared his daily devotionals to his loved ones, and he walked with Christ every day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donnis Parvin Ellis and Patsy Anne Steck. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Jo Lynn Sebesta Ellis, his daughter Jodi and her husband Shawn Mann from Bridgeport, TX, his son Donnis Kody Ellis and wife, Kara from Magnolia, TX. His grandchildren, Brady and Karly Mann from Bridgeport, TX. His brothers Bo Ellis from Angleton, TX, Rocky Ellis and his wife Kay from Alvin, TX, and his sister, Theresa Ellis from Angleton, TX, as well as his extended family, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Donnis’ name to Community Baptist Church 6114 5th Street Danbury, Texas 77534
