The origin of Moehl Millwork goes back to 1897 when Bill Carr of Dubuque and Ernie Moehl Of Des Moines started Carr & Moehl Co. Bob Moehl, Ernie’s son, started working at Carr & Moehl in 1939. When Ernie died in 1954, Bob Moehl started to manage the company. In 1964, Bob Moehl and five fellow employees left Carr & Moehl and started Moehl Millwork. Following the death of Bob Moehl in 1975 employees managed the organization until 1987. As part of Moehl Millworks growth the company acquired Kansas City Millwork in 1991. Don Rudd purchased the company September 30, 2000, continuing the long tradition of being locally owned.
