We are seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Cobbler Apprentice to join our workshop. This is a hands‑on training position ideal for someone who enjoys craftsmanship, problem‑solving, and working with high‑quality leather goods. No prior experience is required, but a genuine interest in the trade and a strong work ethic are essential. Preference for people who speak Spanish, but it is not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in shoe repair tasks, including stitching, gluing, polishing, and sole/heel replacements
- Support the creation and adjustment of orthopedic shoe alterations based on medical orders or client needs
- Help craft custom‑made shoes under the guidance of a master cobbler
- Perform general leather alterations and repairs on bags, belts, and other accessories
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Provide friendly and professional customer service when needed
- Learn and follow traditional and modern techniques in leatherworking and footwear construction
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good hand‑eye coordination and comfort using tools and machinery
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently once trained
Interest in craftsmanship, fashion, or leather goods is a plus
