One of our jobs this week.
We removed and replaced this 58-foot by 9-foot driveway along with two separate 15-foot by 3-foot sidewalks using premium 4,000 PSI concrete with fiber mesh reinforcement throughout. The driveway and sidewalks were installed at no less than 5 inches thick, with additional thickness provided at the driveway apron to better withstand vehicle traffic.
To correct years of settlement, we raised the driveway nearly 5 inches to bring it back to the proper grade. We also installed 4-inch semi-solid PVC pipe beneath the driveway to carry the downspout water away, eliminating runoff across the driveway that was causing erosion and creating potential ice hazards during the winter months.
This project was completed in just two days. Day one consisted of demolition, excavation, grading, and forming. Day two consisted of pouring and finishing approximately 12 yards of concrete.
As with every project, proper base preparation, grading, drainage, concrete thickness, and quality materials are what help create a finished product built to last.
