Storage shed, tore down the old one. Kept that wood pile lean too for now. Which is way out of whack so was fine tying all that together into the new build and look decent. Eventually that will be tore down and redone. Just not enough time right now. Post frame, dirt floor to be aggregate later, light through panels. Maybe power down the road?

Deck build for a really cool old couple. He had called us a year before and we just never connected. This year we were able to get the online permit process done finally and get going. Old cantilever deck, there was alot of rot going on and really the lumber wasn't sized to what it should from the start. They did keep the far end portion because they were on a budget. It was hard to get this in on the budget they had. We did put some longer days in to help with that. Would have been better to tear the whole thing off. We did add supports on the old section and shored it up while there. Post to beam braces were added later on the last day just forgot to take that final pick with the cleanup and the fact we were over on time as it was and we really did need to keep to that budget i forgot the last pic. Double up rim joist acting as beam for entire perimeter on 4x6 posts with handi peir system. The whole area is nothing but bolders. We had to pry and hand dig alot of boulders out just to get these peirs set. And I mean alot of hand digging even at that there was some slight shift on the peirs with the entire ground being rock. Definitely a really hard job with all long days. Wall had alot of rot so alot of flashing done to seal it out. The door too had alot of rot so we cut out what was needed and sealed that. But it was worth it, really good old couple and the place has been In their family for along time so alot of history there. Back breaking, but the old deck was unsafe and they just weren't getting anyone at all willing to do the work. Was nice being on the lake and getting to meet them. Was one of the neatest places on a lake we seen in along time. Not because it was a huge mansion, or fancy new with quartz and tile everywhere. Was exact opposite, small and quaint older wood work T&G in it. Place had charm and character for days! Super cool and turned out really nice. Just seeing those two old people sit on their chairs on their new deck with their old puppy dog at the end just enjoying the view felt really good😉

Shored up a deck that was getting alot of sag on the steps and a hump at the transition from beam to cantilever. Really the whole thing should have been built completely different. Hard to tell if it was like that from the start or if there was an add on later on. Anyway we had met this guy probably 3 years before this and just never did end up doing any work for him. Not sure if we got too busy or he just waited til he was ready. We ended up jacking the deck and stairs up, adding a beam at the transition on the cantilever and supports under the stairs. Also his front door was warped from some of the deck movement and the lack of proper seal under the door threshold. So we sealed under the door and had him peg it shut inside with blocks positioned to bend it back and hold it there. After a few weeks of the blocks holding. The door came back to its original shape. Good thing too because that's not a cheap door system. He had a window in the back with a similar issue except that one was because the cam lock was offset from the initial install. So we fixed the cam and pegged that shut. After time it should hold and stay sealed again. It functions much better and actually locks now. We built a gate for his fenced in back yard. Added a pneumatic caster wheel since it was a massive gate with alot of weight. Especially since the gate was needed to be built to match the fence shape and height. After that we went inside to install this old door he had refinished. The R.O. was way out of whack and the handle set and hinges all had to be hand set, door needed to be cut down and alot of adjustments. We built the door and frame on our work table and got everything precise before setting it. But when it was all said and done. It turned out really good and kept the inside to the period he was going for. He was happy and said it was really hard to find anyone that would do the door since it all had to be done by hand and was custom. It really is alot more doing it that way vs just buying a new door slab on jamb/frame. But when you want stuff to match the period. This is the only way we are able to achieve that.

New window install on a building that is going to be a rental in Rhinelander. We actually did alot of work on this place for interior remodel. Built two bedrooms, replaced doors, put two new shower surrounds in along and more. Just forgot to ever take pictures of all of it. Anyway we came back later to put the new windows in for the lower bedroom. He hadn't figured for those the 1st time we were there. But we were glad to do it. Really good family to work for and I've known him and his wife for along time along with his parents. Appreciated the work!

Rail set for a really good friend in town here. Stain touch ups were done afterwards just forgot the picture. Was a different one, carpet wall on rock foundation. Little bit of planning and we were able to get a good solid set. He was happy with it, we did come back and soften the champferred ends later on. Appreciated the work and liked the challenge of the carpet and rock wall. We used the Backer board on account of the rock wall behind it so it was a solid mount.

Quartz counter install. Initially they contacted us that their template that was made wasn't correct to the cabinets and they were struggling with it. Sent us a short video and from what I could see I figured the cabinets were installed out of square. (We didn't set the cabinets or take the measurements for 1st the template) So once we were able to stop to look. Confirmed the cabinets weren't square to the wall probably due to the framework added to a log wall. The template was perfectly square but didn't cover the cabinets in multiple areas. So we spent the time to take many measurements across the whole thing. Got a new template set and everything was good. Counter came in and we installed them. There was a mix up with the sink cut out from the factory so we did have to work with the owners and select a different sink. Turned out beautiful and they were happy. Faucet, drain and supply where done later.

Fence job in town, dog ear shadow box. Had lot lines established 1st, then set the work line to what they wanted. Met with the neighbor to go over what we would be doing and that we may have tools and debris on their side for the time being. Pulled permit and cracked it out. Originally they weren't going to do a gate. Just an opening to the back side of the fence for upkeep. We were able to talk to them about the benefits of the gate. They agreed so we took a fence panel cut it down and added what was needed for a gate. Turned out nice and sturdy, looks good and the owners were happy. Fun little project.

Trouble shooting in progress. He has water coming in during the spring thaw and melt. Prior there was an interior drain tile/pump with radon venting system. But it still leaks in on the staircase wall just passed the drain tile system. We were pretty sure it was not the water table coming up like was thought prior. Tracked it back to the foundation being block wall. The back yard pitches right back to that area. So water runs that way, then down the block. On the inside they had drywall prior and I was sure the anchors set into the block for the drywall fur strips was where the water was getting in. So for now we cut two weep holes into the block and ground a groove to the drain tile system. Then patched all the cracks and rubber coated that section. The water came right out our weep holes into the cut groove and right into the drain tile. It's not the prettiest repair. But we want to make sure that next spring, the weep holes can handle the volume of water that comes before we would connect pipe to the weep holes and into the drain tile and buttoned up. When we finished it was at the end of the thaw so it is possible next spring there is more water volume than the weep holes are sized for.

Removed old exhaust cover and pipe. There was the wrong set up that we had tried to seal multiple times before but just could not get that old set up to stay sealed. Removed shingles, hooked the new cover up and a new pipe. Went in attic and sealed that connection and insulated back up. Peiced new shingles back in and sealed around the vent.

Before and after for new countertops. This was not a traditional way of doing counters. The old cabinet for the octagon island set above the sink counter by 1 1/2". Probably because most places cannot make a miter seam on something like that. We removed the old stuff, cut the octagon cabinet down to be flush with the sink counter height. After that we had to brace the cabinets and add supports everywhere. It is a prefab home so the way they built cabinets was not normal. Once we had that done, we had the seam set like we would with quartz or granite. It is not as pretty and clean as a traditional laminate seam, quartz or granite. But to get rid of that step up and make it all one counter. This was the only way to do so. And they wanted that step up gone over anything. So it was a cool project/challenge and turned out really nice. The seam does have two minor spots where there is just a hairline lip, only noticeable once pointed out and running a hand over to feel the slight difference between the two sections. Mostly because the cabinets were so out of whack and the way the seam needed to be done to work out. Then to top that off, the new sink counter came bowed on the length and cupped at the seam end. So there was alot of fighting with it and adjusting to finish it. Got the plumber over there to correct the gas line behind the range as it was bumping the range way out on the old set up. He also fixed some minor plumbing that was noticed while there.
