Behind the Scenes: A Paradise Valley Duct Overhaul
This month our crew tackled a full duct system overhaul on a Paradise Valley home where the original 1990s ductwork had never been touched. Half the flex duct had collapsed insulation, several trunk lines had separated at the plenum, and the return was pulling attic air (which explained the dust problem and the punishing summer bills). We resealed every joint with mastic, replaced 140 feet of flex, added a properly sized return chase, and finished with a full cleaning and pressure test. Static pressure dropped from 0.9 to 0.6 inches of water column, and the system now delivers rated airflow at every register. This is the kind of work that transforms how a home actually feels. Not glamorous, but genuinely worth it.
