Congratulations Rebecca Lavigne for being honored. It was well earned through hard work and perseverance!

Meet Rebecca Lavigne with ARW Concrete Contracting, LLC! Rebecca was nominated and chosen because of her dedication to improving the industry one project at a time. We asked Rebecca several questions to get to know her better and to spotlight her career.

Why did you choose to pursue a career in the construction industry? I would have to say that this career chose me more than the other way around. However, I think that the challenges presented by the project logistics, coordination, schedule, and revisions keep the day-to-day activities from becoming stale. There’s a nice mix of field and office time and there are plenty of opportunities where I, as an individual, can make a large impact.

What do you enjoy most about your career? What I enjoy most about my career is being able to see a well-functioning team be successful out in the field and knowing that I helped create and mentor that process.

What advice would you give to a young woman entering the industry? Don’t be afraid to ask questions and make mistakes…That’s how you learn. If you invest your own time to know and understand the construction documents, others WILL notice.

What makes you proud of working in the construction industry? The enormous advancements I’ve seen in so many sectors. The changes in safety practices, planning & documenting, the advancements in technology both in the office and out in the field…We’ve come a long ways from flip phones and blueprints!

We want to thank Rebecca for making an impact in the construction industry!
